Story Outline work in progress


ACT 1: 


Who is(are) the protagonist(s)?

1  Meet Drusilla a young timid girl the age of 13 She has a nyctophobia, fear of the dark, and some times is scared of her own shadow. She is an orphan child, her father died when she was very young and mother just recently died. She was sent to live with her grandmother. 



What is the setting of the film?

1  Open road - Creepy forest that appears lighter on the outside then it does on the inside. 



How does the film begin?

1  The film beginnings with the an establishing shot of Drusilla on an open road leading to a creep forest. She holds a note that was given to her by her mother with her grandmother's address she peers at the note trying to make out the address. 



What is the inciting incident? (What triggers the main plot of the story?  What is the protagonist looking for?)

1  The bird takes the note out of Drusilla hands and flies into the dark creepy forest with it between its beak



What is the major first plot point that moves the story into act II?

1  She follows the bird into the forest only to be crowed by creepy twisted trees that in closes on her she tries to get out of the forest the way she came in but the tress block out the entrance with their limbs as if alive. The deeper Drusilla goes into the forest the darker and foggier it gets as if the trees themselves are breathing. She searches for the crow to get back her paper; its calling sound is her only guide. She sees a light in the forest and comes a cross a bright figure the only light within the dark forest. She meets Mr. May a shy boy who claims to be stuck in the forest they then continue together trying to find a way out. 
ACT 2: 
1  What setbacks does the protagonist face in Act II?
1                    She faces the both her fear of the dark and Mr. Mays' 
2                    Strange trees and the monsters crow all to get back her grandmother's address 
2  How does the protagonist deal with those major plot points?
1                    In order to help Mr. May conquer his fears she has to conquer her own in the process 
3  What is the second major plot point that finally kicks the protagonist's butt in gear? What is the jumping off point for Act 3?
1                    Mr. May is stolen by a cloud of dark fog she risks plunging into it to get him back 
ACT 3: 
1  What is the climax of the film? Does the protagonist get what is wanted, what is needed, or something else entirely?
1                    She faces the monster head on to get back Mr. May punching and screaming with eyes closed at it demanding it give back Mr. May while completely facing her fears of the dark. 
2  In the Denouement, how does the film relax itself back to a state of equilibrium? How is everything resolved?
3  How does the film end?

She finds her way out the forest with Mr. May and spots her grandmothers cottage.

ACT 1: (25% of your film's runtime)

    1. She is the boss's aid or secretary 
  2. What is the setting of the film?
    1. In an office building 
  3. How does the film begin?
    1. In an office buliding a disgruntled employee tries to get coffee from an machine and finds out its out of order he then gets mad and fights the machine.  Establishing that the office building has a coffee shortage. 
  4. What is the inciting incident? (What triggers the main plot of the story?  What is the protagonist looking for?) 
    1. The boss calls down angrily for a his daily cup of coffee and threatens to fire her if she doesn't bring him one. She seems disappointed or bored by this request. 
  5. What is the major first plot point that moves the story into act II?
    1. The transition of the female character making the coffee starting to go toward her bosses office going pass the thirst employees . 
ACT 2: (50% of your film's runtime)
  1. What setbacks does the protagonist face in Act II?
    1. One of the employees realized that the secretary has a hot cup of coffee and they go to surround her. She faces the other employees in the office who wants coffee badly that they begin to attack her for the coffee she made for her boss. 
  2. How does the protagonist deal with those major plot points?
    1. She begins to attack the other employees to keep her boss's coffee safe so she can keep her job. 
  3. What is the second major plot point that finally kicks the protagonist's butt in gear? What is the jumping off point for Act 3?
    1. After killing her fellow employees she looks into the eye of the last one she killed with an sadden expression. 
ACT 3: (25% of your film's runtime)
  1. What is the climax of the film? Does the protagonist get what is wanted, what is needed, or something else entirely?
    1. The secretary busts into her boss's office door with the body of an employee so she makes it to her boss's office successful with the cup of coffee she throws/ slides the cup of coffee towards her boss who sits intimidating across an long table. 
  2. In the Denouement, how does the film relax itself back to a state of equilibrium? How is everything resolved?
    1. She successful makes it to her bosses office with the cup of coffee and throws/ slides it towards him. 
  3. How does the film end?
    1. It ends with the coffee cup falling over the edge of the table
